Today we walked the 1.6km length of the High Line - a disused railway line that has been converted into a walkway with gardens and seats. To get there we walked through part of Hell's Kitchen and it was good seeing another area of NYC. Being up high the views from the High Line are great and it ends just above Chelsea Markets. Today we went on a guided tour called Dozen Apples with our guide Nathan who is an actor. We caught the subway up to Wall Street where we walked around, passed Ground Zero, Chinatown, Little Italy (had an awesome cannoli), Soho, Noho and Greenwich Village where we had lunch at a nice little Italian restaurant. Today Liz and I walked to Central Park and wandered through a good half of it. There are some beautiful spaces - ponds, seated areas, tennis courts, playgrounds etc. Lots of squirrels and some lovely birds as well. Lots and lots of people jogging. After walking for about 3 hours we went in search of food and ended up crossing into the Upper West Side. Initially there were no food shops but it was lovely looking at the beautiful old buildings and apartment blocks....

An early start again and as the train was delayed a bit the buses took us to a spot overlooking Kamloops where we saw the sun come up which was really nice. On to the train and we set off for Banff. More good food and wine and the scenery just got better as we went along. Amazing rocky mountain ranges and water an amazing pale aqua colour. Well the morning started early but slow as the Rocky Mountaineer train to load several bus loads on board.
