Thanks for all the birthday messages - jungle life was amazing but quite glad to be back to a few creature comforts!! Stayed with some indigenous tribes, went on a night walk and saw some caimans, swam in a few waterfalls and spotted a snake in one - aghh! Our guide was great - we stayed in 2 different places with the indigenous people - cooking and toilet facilities v basic - tried some local delicacies - mmm - delicious!! We survived the jungle!! Wow - what an adventure! After a long drive with our guide and an Austrian girl we arrived in the jungle! First of all we visited an indigenous community where we could buy some jewellery made out of material from the jungle. Day 4 Today we had planned to visit Latacunga which sounded beautiful in our guide book. However when we arrived at the bus terminal it looked so awful that we just boarded another bus to Banos instead. This proved a wise decision as Banos is lovely - pheww! Hola- We have finally arrived in the beautiful city of QUITO!!! Wow, it was a long trip! We missed our connecting flight from Miami to Quito - but we were able to catch a later flight so finally arrived in Quito at 11pm - 5AM GMT. Jen enjoyed watching Sex in the City - twice! then Fawlty Towers followed by a great programme on Posh and Becks!!
