The altitude sickness hit me as soon as i landed. At 2,800 metres Quito is the highest capital city in the world.

I soon felt better once I got through immigration and was greeted by Paola- our tour coordinator whilst in Quito.

She drove us to the Hostel in Quito, which is a nice relaxed place with a German owner- so you can imagine the place was ship shape!

I met all of the other volunteers, who were lovely and welcomed me into the group straight away. We went for dinner, and then it was time for an early night to prepare myself for the days ahead.
