Hi there we have had a very special day today been spoiled by Kay we were treated to a afternoon tea at swiss hotel very posh in the city, complete with chocolate fountain, very yummy. Was our first day in the city, saw the opera house, Sydney bridge look great up close, it is a though arch bridge, 8 lanes for cars, 2 rail tracks, 1 cycle way and 1 pedestrian walk way, connecting Sydney central business district and north shore. A very much iconic image of Sydney and Australia, has a nick name ( the coat hanger ). Total length 3,770ft, 161ft wide, 440ft high and the longest span is 1,650ft. They began building on 28th July 1923 and finished on 19th January 1932, it opened on 19 th March 1932, takes 30,000lt of quick drying paint and since 2013 they used two grit blasting robots named Rosie and sandy. It is the sixth longest spanning arch bridge in the world and the tallest, the harbour looked great also, the weather not so good today, rain almost all day but did not spoil the day. I'm sure now I would not won't to do the bridge climb. We took the train it was a double decker train into the city what a big place Kay showed us where she used to live also the Luna park and the 2000 Olympic pool before we took the ferry across to city side on circle key. The city is a very busy place bit like London on a bigger scale. People are very friendly here as the rain continued to fall we decided to get a taxi back Kay has a app on her phone for uber this is local people using there own cars for taxiing which is a lot cheaper than the main taxi service. The boys were at day care today and tomorrow Kay and Tim (who was Woking today) did not want to take them out of their routine. Wish I could put more pics on here but still cannot work out how to. Bye for today see you tomorro
