We arrived in Luoyang at 7am and had a two hour drive to Shaolin - up in the mountain area. It's beautiful!
After checking in to our guest house in the village we had some lunch then headed to the Shaolin Temple - the place is very serene and peaceful, with lots of trees - one is 800 years old! The three gold Buddha's are amazing!
We then went to look at some pagodas which were memorials for the monks, before making our way to our Kung Fu class. We were given displays by the young pupils of the school - OMG! They were awesome! So flexible. We were taught a basic Kung Fu piece - basic to the pro's that is so it was still quite full on! At the end of the hour long class I was named the star pupil. The teacher had said to our tour guide I have a real talent! And that he would like me to come back to the school for a year so he could train me properly. I felt quite proud. I may take it up when I get home.
After a group dinner we retreated back to our accommodation for the night.
My thighs are absolutely killing me after holding them Kung Fu poses! I've stretched muscles that haven't been used in a decade I'm sure!
There are lakes and little waterfalls all around these mountains, the sound is so relaxing.
It was raining today, very heavy at times. It's much cooler here in comparison to India.
