Ok so i started a blog about Bangkok with mixed reactions how I felt about it after coming from ko samui , after the weekend my opinion has some what changed, " I love Bangkok". So Friday I set out from my home in Phuttamonton all ready for a full day in the city. I flagged a taxi down on the main road and got a taxi to Wing Wong Yai BTS, which took around 20 minutes in the taxi. Here at BTS I purchased an all day sky train saver for 120 B( £2.50) I had to get from Wing Wong Yai to bearing, which is the other side of town ! So for me the Toddler I had my work cut out. After getting on and off the sky train at wrong stops a few times the system , finally started to sink in . Changing at Siam BTS on to the other line i was finally on route to Bearing ( the nicer part of town ).3 hours later I arrived at my destination. Of course how could I resist a quick stop off at the soup lady serving the most delicious pork soup with noodles. I then continued my journey as I walked 3 minutes down the street and got a motorcycle taxi , the English barrier here was an issue so I had to make a quick translate telephone call so they could explain where I was heading . Motorcycle taxis for me are the best form of transport so far, I love bikes any way , lovely getting the fresh air on the bike and you tend to see more of what's around you ,plus bikes get through the traffic ! 10 minutes later I arrived safe and sound at my meeting, which was Absolutely fantastic and I shall fill you all in future blogs. The meeting went on for a good 3 hours, somebody from the meeting gave me a lift on there bike to the BTS, here I jumped back on the sky train and headed to Victory monument which was about 10 stops down from bearing BTS .Victory monument is so much like London and very busy , I didn't venture too far just another cheeky soup and i grabbed a motorcycle taxi to ko San road which was a bit more pricey as it was allot further costing 100 B (£2). I loved this journey the taxi dude was a bit of mad driver I loved that and I saw so much on the way there , I could have stopped on that bike allot longer. Traffic shoots out from all directions, there seems to be no speed limit , little bit of adrenaline and i was Loving Life on the back of that bike . I made it to Ko San road and headed straight to a cosy bar and made friends instantly. A well deserved bottle of Leo was needed and oh it tasted good. My friend Jesi arrived to join me about an hour later, She took me for a full tour of Ko San road. This street has so much character and warmth, it's designed for tourist ,bars playing commercial music the most awesome clothes, hand crafted materials to buy , amazing Art and canvas pictures ,so much jewelry and love on this street. There is a tattoo shop every 3 door s down. Tattoos in thailand with tourists is a very popular thing to do, i was very tempted Friday night to re ink my self , as this chapter in my life is a defining moment,so I shall be getting re inked at some point here on my journey , I shall let the journey continue to unfold first. Loud music bright lights great vibe and the drinks continued to flow. On the street was a women selling bugs! Bush tucker trial, I had to do this challenge. We bought a scorpion ,cockroach and a cricket , Jesi and myself shared half of each insect. The scorpion for me was the worst as the bum part of the insect with all the crap in it you can taste in your mouth. The sloshy mixed taste of body parts and what ever else I was chewing it was groce , but I did it .The cockroach wasn't too bad as I ate it's head so it was just crunchy and the same with the cricket , so there you have it Friday night I lived ! I ate bugs i did it , challenge complete. Ive added the videos from you tube on to FB of me and jesi eating bugs , here is the link if you missed it http://youtu.be/Bl57wFIbgEQ. We headed to a bar with a really talented Musican on his guitar , playing the most awesome songs From red hot chilli pepper s ,Metallica , nirvana the vibe was amazing , the food was so good and the cocktails continued to flow.sharm did what sharm does best " doesn't think and just does it ",all I heard was 4 chords on the guitar of proud Mary and I was out that chair grabbed his microphone and took the show , no thought at all, Jesi was shocked and happy , think she just learnt a bit more about who I am, after a standing ovation and a fan club on there feet dancing I headed back to Jesi and sank in my chair " did I just really do that" you are one in a million she replied with a huge smile . We left the cool bar and headed for a massage which was a good and bad idea , intoxicated and a awesome massage , wow I was so chilled out after that one ,the night continued heading to the reggae bar Which i Absolutely loved . Rasters from all over the world cool hippy s so much love and peace in that place, the guy who worked there was a Thai raster OMG he is hot!!! I have just found my future cool husband ( lol) We had fun and a great connection between every one in the reggae bar, I danced so hard and smiled so much great energy great vibes great food and drink! Bangkok is an amazing night out and a MUST do on all of your wish list, I feel I might have only just hit the surface here in Bangkok there s going to be allot more this city has to offer so I'm so ready to Rock N Roll ;))
"Live life fully while you're here. Experience everything. Take care of yourself and your friends. Have fun, be crazy, be weird. Go out and screw up! You're going to anyway, so you might as well enjoy the process. Take the opportunity to learn from your mistakes: find the cause of your problem and eliminate it. Don't try to be perfect; just be an excellent example of being human."
