Oh, I totally forgot to say that while in Yongshou I went to watch a sound and light show on the river about traditional life in Youngshou, it was really well done and was cool to see, even though it was all in Mandarin and I didn't understand a word of it! ha ha.
So after the bike ride day we packed our small back packs which we'd be trekking with and living out of for 3 days, and headed to Guilin train station. We checked in our big back packs and headed even more in to the depths of China. We trekked up through the mountains (yes yes, this really was all getting to much for me, the most exercise I've probably ever done!) We walked through the rice fields, and up and up and up the mountains through windy small paths to our small wooden hotel place again. The views were amazing! There was just our hotel up there in the mountains and nothing else! We were sourronded by green land and rice fields and mountains in every direction we looked! So cool! We hung out there playing more cards and reading etc. The next day we trekked further and further through the mountains to a viallage where our next hotel was. Here there were a few more wooden hotels but still as amazing. Later that night we got to watch some local women do a show for us where they sung and danced in traditional mountain viallage ways. It was fab to watch. We had to all get involved at points and dance around with them and then we had to jump between these bamboo sticks on the floor, it was crazy and I broke a bamboo stick, stepped right on it! ha ha, oops!Luckily they saw the funny side of it! Also, luckily I wasn't the only one, some one else had stepped on one before me and broken it too, phew! hee hee.
So, I've managed to quickly fit in what I've been up to the last few days, I've done soooo much more and seen soooo much more, and learnt soooo much more than I could possiblly sit here and write, basically it comes down to the fact that this travelling stuff is fabtastic and I'm loving every moment of it! We're in Guilin now near the train station. We trekked back down the mountain this morning and my legs are totally killing me, ow! Major muscle pain from all the trekking! I've got a few hours before boarding yet another overnight train, boooo. I'm now heading to Hong Kong! woo hoo! Frank, our lovely tour guide, said its expensive and not so fab, but we'll see. I'll keep you updated.
