Hello All!
We just got back from the beach last night and had such a great time! We even started our own motorcycle gang. We rented 8 motorcycles to get us around Cha-Am and the locals got a huge kick out of all of these crazy Americans on motorcycles! We had some great games of sand volleyball and a lot of time to hang out and get to know each other better. We got back to Bangkok around 2 pm yesterday and about 9 of us set out on a mission to find MEXICAN FOOD. WE FOUND IT!! Althoght it wasn't up to Texas standards it was heaven in my mouth. Just the sight of salsa made me happy!! Haha; I'll admit I'm a mexican food addict. After the best lunch I've ever had, I went with Gina to the mall to finish up some last minute shopping. Today we are on our way to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. I'm excited about Vietnam although I don't quite know what to expect. We're all pretty excited to get to Vietnam although Thailand will be greatly missed. Jo and I are about to go grab some breakfast and head out for the day so I have to go! I miss all of you so much! Can't wait to see you!
Love,
Shan
P.S. Here's a fun story. When locals ask where we are from and we reply with America and then go on to tell them we're from Texas I always like to ask if they know anything about Texas. Most don't know too much or I get the standard reply of, "ohhh Texas, cowboys and horses!" My favorite reply so far was when I was doing an interview at a boutique inside the Gaysorn mall. This guy was about 24 years old and when he asked where I was from and I replied with Texas his eyes shot open and he had this frightened look on his face, he goes, "TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE!!" He was so worried that I came from a place that things like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre are a regular occurence. He slapped the DVD on the counter and asked me if anything like that had ever happened to me or any of my friends. When I told him no and informed him that it was just a movie and things like that don't happen regularly in Texas he was extremely relieved. Haha, I still laugh just thinking about him.
