LOOK AT THE PICTURE....I rode on one of those about an hour ago! It's called a tuk-tuk and it's the scariest ride of your life in this crazy Thailand traffic!!
We landed in Thailand safely and arrived at our hotel around 2 am two nights ago. It was the LONGEST two days of my life!! I'm so excited to do it again (not!). Yesterday was a day of go-go-go!! We met at around 11 am so we could sleep in a little and went on an extraordinary temple tour. We went to the three best temples in Thailand and saw one of the biggest Buddahs in the world. We also visited the MBK which is a gigantic shopping mall, I can't even convey to you how insane it is! It's 8 stories tall and it's store on top of store on top of store, anything you want you can find. The people here are so nice and friendly, so far so good. I had my first experience with street food yesterday. Jo (my roommate), Aaron, Kenny, Jared, and I were all walking through the streets by our hotel and we found a lady making food on the corner. I had noodles with pork and you could add all of your own spices, it was wonderful! No sign of sickness yet, so I guess I'm good. Last night a bunch of us went to the night market and I got most of my souvenier shopping done for all of you folks back home ;). I got a fake Gucci bag for $20 US dollars and I got two pairs of sunglasses, Gucci and Dior for $6 US dollars each! That's a bargain if I've ever seen one...even if they do break in a week. They had live shows last night at the market, it was hilarious to see the Thai people up on stage singing Fergie and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Today we met at around 8:45 to leave for the Grand Palace. It was absolutely breath-taking, the pictures don't do it justice. The amount of time to construct a place like that is unimaginable. There were lush gardens, beautiful flowers, and magnificent buildings wherever you turned. This entire city entices my mind with every step. The smells, the sights, the sounds...I can't get enough!
I'm sorry this isn't extremely detailed, we're always on the move! I love all of you and can't wait to see you again!!
