Today we continued to explore Paris. We had a fun morning of climbing the 400 stairs of Notre-Dame. Thankfully it is a very cool day. The top has an amazing view of the city, also the gargoyles are really neat up close. It was definitely worth the hour wait in line. We also enjoyed a crepe and cappuccino on the patio of the cafe right outside the church. Yum, we love the French lifestyle. Last night we traveled across the city for dinner, per Ryan's recommendations. Scott did an amazing job of locating the restaurant. As soon as we were handed menus we realized we had a problem, everything was in French. We decided to be brave and did the tasting menu, Scott ordered the top items and I ordered all the bottom choices. After ordering I went to the "toilet," which was in the basement. At the bottom of the stairs I once again realized there was a problem, H or F were my choices...... luckily a busboy walked out of the cellar as I was about to enter the men's room, I pointed and he laughed. On my way back to the table I looked a round and laughed, "Scott did you know we were at an Indian restaurant?"
Sitting on the patio was fun and we enjoyed a great deal of people watching. At the restaurant next door the patio was packed with leather dressed bikers. Turns out it was a Harley Davidson gang. Who knew there were such gangs in Paris, it was to funny to watch all of these hard core men drinking wine and sipping cappuccino.
On the way home last night on the metro we saw the worst she/male ever, it was hard not to laugh. She/he was wearing a skirt with an incredibly low top that reviled very large breasts, she had on bright pink eye shadow and penciled on eyebrows to enhance her very manly features. As if that was not enough she had short balding hair. The second we sat down, Scott turned to me and asked, "how am I to sit here and not laugh?"
Tonight we are to meet up with the tour group and tomorrow we leave for Baune.
Please everyone feel free to email us via this site as we plan to check it daily.
Love to all.
P.S. Mom, they had hot chocolate for breakfast this morning. They even had hot milk for the hot chocolate.
