The past week and a half have been eventful and interesting in many ways. We have done some interviews and we have been doing some volunteer work in the Malmö stand at the Expo. Also my (Per) sister got married last Saturday, and I attended the wedding via Skype, which wasn't as good as being there in person but still very nice.
The first interview we did last week was with a company that specialize in designing green roofs. They mainly do roofs gardens, which isn't really what we are interested in, but the meeting still gave us alot of useful information. We visited a couple of very nice roof gardens which this company had designed and we asked about the plants and what the roofs are used for. Afterward we had lunch together and then we continued to their office to do a short interview.
The second interview last week was with a government employee at a municipality office, Ms Ji. She gave us her view on green roofs and some information about how the government try to promote green roofs in Shanghai.
To get some rest and recreation we went to a jazz club last Friday, the Cotton Club, and I think it was one of the most revitalizing experiences so far here in Shanghai. The house band was very professional and fun to listen to. The singer was really amazing. They did great renditions of Footprints and Georgia on my mind, among other songs.
This week we have been working in the Malmö stand at the Expo on Monday and Tuesday. This has mainly meant sitting down, stamping Expo passports and posing for pictures with very happy Chinese people. But it has also presented us with opportunities to make new contacts and to learn more about sustainable building. On Friday we are going to do a presentation at the Malmö stand on how we build passive houses in Sweden. Hopefully we will learn as much from this as our Chinese collegues.
Kristofer came up with the good idea to print inquiry forms about green roofs and hand out to the visitors of the Malmö stand. This way we can get some hint of what Chinese people know and think about green roofs. We will try to implement this idea next week.
So much more happens here than what there is room for in this blog, so there will still be things left to tell once we get back home. We hope that you are doing great, wherever you might be, and that you who are in Sweden are saving the best weather for when we get back!

Lorenzo von Matterhorn We'll save some of our best weather for when you guys get back! Back here in Sweden we're having a great summer although not as adventurous as yours :) If possible it would be great to see some more pictures of food / nightlife / expos! Everyday impressions would also make a interesting read :) Keep it Green!
