Shane and Sarah's Adventures
Buenos dias!
Well we are back in BA after spending a couple of days at the Iguacu Falls. Our trip up there almost began on a sour note. Whilst waiting for the bus from the terminal in BA, a couple of dodgy locals attempted to part us with our belongings....... I (Shane) went to the toilet and as I left Sarah with the bags I said...'don't let anyone distract you.....' Funnily enough, as soon as I left a girl approcahed Sarah and tried to distract her with conversation. Sarah thought of my parting comment and was switched on to what might be happening. She turned quickly and saw the girls accomplice (a cowardly man) attempting to unclip my day pack! With an elbow and barrage of expletives, Sarah valiantly fought off the would be robbers, who then sheepishly strolled away. Go Sarah! Never mind, its all part of travelling!
The 18 hour bus ride passed quickly and after arriving around midday we spent the afternoon and all the next day wandering around the Iguacu National Park. The falls are incredible, more vast and less forceful than Victoria Falls and just the opposite of Angel Falls (Angel falls being extremely high and very narrow). The surrounding scenery was also amazing and a highlight was seeing a few Toucans (and other birds and critters)in their natural environment.
We have just got off the return bus (another 18 hours) and are biding time until we catch another bus later today(18 hours again!) to Puerto Madryn on the Atlantic Coast. We don't mind the bus rides actually, they serve meals with wine, champagne and whiskey and show a couple of movies.
At Puerto Madryn (Peninsula Valdes) the plan is to spot some whales so wish us luck!
Love Shane and Sarah
