We flew to Bogota then went to meet the bulletproof tailor, Miguel Castellano. It was pretty interesting to meet the "Armani" of bulletproof fashion! That night we all went to Andres Carne de Res restaurant/disco. The restaurant was so awesome! If you are ever in Bogota you MUST go there!
The next day Kusi organized a mini city tour of Bogota for us. We took the van to the teleferico to go up to Monserate. Before going up we took pictures w/ a llama. At the top it was a little chilly. (I actually appreciated it after the oppressive heat in Santa Marta and Cartagena!) We just walked around lazily, seeing the church and looking at artesanias. After lunch we walked around some crafts markets then went to the Museo de Oro. It was really nice w/ a LOT of gold!
Saturday was Kusi and Laura's wedding (Erick's friends from Harvard). It was at a beautiful estate called Hacienda Marquez and the cutest thing was seeing the animals on the way in (sheep, donkey etc.) decorated w/ a flower necklace! The ceremony was very nice and Erick gave them a wonderful speech. As usual, a great time was had by all!
My last day in Bogota I said goodbye to Erick and all of his friends and enjoyed a bit more of this beautiful city on my own. I went to the main plaza and the church and then to the Donacion Botero museum. It was really great & I could take photos so I got a lot of great Botero replicas now! I also had the famous hot chocolate bread & cheese at la Puerta Falsa but wasn't totally impressed.
