Left Reilly's Rock and made our way to a candle craft place. Great workmanship. As we proceeded east and south the landscape changed. A great deal of sugarcane and the associated sugar mill operations. The whole area (both Swaziland and this part of South Africa are experiencing extremely dry conditions. Rivers are very low. The drought is quite noticeable. The owner of the B&B we are at says it is the worst drought in over 25 years. Even the plantation forests are suffering.
We entered South Africa with virtually no delay. Our lodge tonight is a 4-room B&B in St. Lucia that is very African in its design. Spent a great hour over a beer with the owner. This is perhaps the best place we have stayed so far on the trip - and they have all been good.
The Swaziland photos are in a new album - Swaziland in the website. Follow us along on our trip. So far, everything has been great and both of us have been very well.
