Another 5 hour drive later and we arrived in Queenstown and find a nice campsite to park for te night. We cooked a poor excuse for a dinner and did some domestic chores, what an exciting life we lead, but living in a camper van with 3 girls and all their worldy possesions for 4 months gets a little cramped. After having a tidy we headed into the party capital of NZ. It lives up to its name, D&V had met some girls in Aus who were in QT and arranged to meet with them for a bottle or 4 of wine. Also met some kiwi guys, Gavin, Grant and Billy, who we found out the next day were a godsend.
Feb 6th D&V got up early to head to Milford sounds, a 4 hours drive from QT, which offered a boat ride on the fjords with stunning views. I opted out of this and decided to chill in Qt instead and see what the place had to offer. PLeased i did stay as at 1pm i got a call from Danni saying they had car issues - what sort you ask... Well it was involved in a crash, my next question was how can a car be involved in a crash? surely someone crashed it. Sadly it was one of the girls driving into the back of a car, nothing bad though and everyone was ok, except K9 our beloved camper van and we said goodbye to our $750 excess. This is where the locals from last night come in use, whilst i was panicking about how to get the girls back from MS and using Grants free internet they were arranging for one of their work utes to be free to drive me the whole way out thereand rescue them. How nice is that. Especially as it's a 4 hour round trip to where they were. Not only that but Billy who flat shares with a lady called J offered us his spare room to stay in as long as we needed. So off we went to collect D&V before heading to Billys for a BBQ and to settle into our new home.
