Hervey Bay was to be our next big seafaring adventure with a trip out to see the migrating humpback whales. Sadly we are a fortnight too soon for the tours. We were however able to observe a few from the shore with our binoculars and see them jumping out of the water.
So off to Town Of 1770 (yes that is it's name) and our first Great Barrier Reef excursion to Lady Musgrave Island and Lagoon. A lovely place and a plethora of coral and fish. Unfortunately even with a wet suit and the sun, it was a bit too chilly to remain in the water for long. We did see an abundance of sea life and a handful of green turtles.
And most importantly, no motion sickness.
