Mike's Travels
Continuing in toward the coast. We slowed to 7 knots to try Tuna fishing as we're making really good time. Planned on 9.5 knots which Shane Lovelace (2nd Mate) confirms is usual. But we've been making well over 10. Even 11 for a short time. So trolling for Tuna in the 15 degree + water avoids a 0500 arrival anyway. Despite right speed & 16 degree water (15 or more is good for Tuna) we caught none over a 4 hour period.
We also practiced "CasTrack" today. First time for most of the crew on the Tully. It's Bob Ayers casualty tracking system. Works really well, but practice is necessary to stay sharp.
