Day 4
After breakfast, we got a song thaw to a waterfall and had a bit of a swim. Then we got back on the song thaw and it dropped us off in the middle of nowhere. We had to trek 2 n a half hours through the jungle to a hiltribe. It was all up and down and we were so hot but there were some nice views. We were led by a guy called Sang who lives in one of he hilltribes. He was so nice and very knowledgable. We saw a few termite hills and put a leaf on top for 'goodluck'. Scarlett felt really ill on the trek and we had hydration sachets and put them in our water.
It was such a relief to arrive at the hilltribe. It was very rural as it was in the middle of the jungle, there were huts built out of wood and animals like chickens and pigs walking about. We had water buffalo tied up underneath our hut so it stank! In our hut there were about 12 thin matresses on the floor with a pillow and mozzy net above. The toilets were only squat and the shower was either freezing water out of a pipe or wash in the river which we both chose to do.
Sang cooked up a really nice tea of rice, meat, tofu and soup. After tea we made a camp fire and played mafia and had a chat. We were all to scared to go to the loo on our own because it was pitch black and you needed a torch. Mellisa ran out of one of the toilets and there was a massive hairy spider there!
We went to bed and all we could hear was the bugs outside, and Ben the german guy chatting on. He's so funny! He speaks just like Borat!
