Headed up to Treble Cone today ( known as TC to the locals ) . The day did not look very appealing - most fair weather skiers wouldn't have bothered ! But we headed up anyway. The car park at TC was littered with Kea - big beaked birds with green and orange wings that scour the car parks looking for bits to nibble at. $14million recently invested in the base area has produced a stylish cafe / restaurant serving good coffees ! That was the first stop then ! ...

Rain Rain and Rain ( not as per the photo ) Not even going to risk the skiing today. Fingers crossed for the weather tomorrow ( we are booked into a day's heliskiing with Harris Mountain Heliski - but not looking overly promising ) Hanging out in Wanaka - not a bad little place to spend the day though.

Rain ! Being hardy skiers we set up the hill despite the gloomy forecast. We parked our car in the lower car park and were picked up the cattle truck to take us the Cardrona base. We were all squashed in like sheep as it sleeted and we got wetter and wetter - what the heck were we doing ???
