Sarah's Travels
We have been in Slovenia just 24 hours now, but so far the sights have been lovely. The train journey from Lake Balaton took us through a lovely valley following a river most of the way and Ljubljana has been very picturesque.
Today we have hired bicycles from our hostel and have been out on the streets with them - it has been a very long time since I rode a bike and I thought I'd forgotten how to but it eventually came back to me! It didn't help that they had no gears and were quite unstable though! We rode up to the Castle this morning, which was nice and much more modern than any others we have seen, but with lots of building work going on in/around it. Then we rode all the way to the zoo on the other side of town this afternoon and walked around looking at the chimps, tigers, lions, etc. No manatees unfortunately!
Last night we found a bar which had a 'skeletal' theme and there were skeletons in all the walls and under glass in the floor too, very creepy!
Tomorrow we are off to Lake Bled which I've heard is beautiful, so really looking forward to seeing the sights there, and we're hopefully going to go biking and rafting there. x x x x
