Sarah's Travels
Now in a resort called Keszthely on the shore of Lake Balaton, the largest freshwater lake in Europe (except Scandanavia) - its so big it looks like the sea, but we can see the other side though!
Budapest was great - we went to the Szenchenyi Furdo baths which had lots of rooms with indoor and outdoor pools, some up to 38° C and others very very cold (they say its good for you!). We even treated ourselves to a 15minute massage each, mine was by a proper beefcake of a masseuse but it wasn't too painful, just tickly!
Since we've been in Lake Balaton area we have also been to a Marzipan Museum - more of a 'display', Martin said it was the worst museum he'd ever been too! And we also visited the nearby town of Heviz which has a geothermal lake (with fish and lilypads occupying the swimming space!) where we hired out rubber rings and swam around for a few hours in the lovely warm water! It was 38 metres deep though and in parts looked completely black so was quite unnerving not knowing what was beneath us!
Onto Slovenia next and then Croatia for 2 weeks by the coast x x x
