Sarah's Travels
We are now in Budapest, which seemed really sunny when we arrived yesterday but today has been peeing it down all day. Haven't let that stop us though, thanks to Basil the Umbrella (!) and we've been to see the Castle, Parliament, Gellert Hill and tomorrow we're off to relax in the thermal baths and spas!
Slovakia was great - Bratislava was small but not over-run with tourists (yet) and we did all the sights plus a torture museum exhibition, various hot chocolate samples and a day trip to Vienna whilst we were there! And an amazing Chinese restaurant which gave us mountains of chicken chow mein for 5 pounds for the whole meal!
The Slovakian mountains were great and we also managed to spend a couple of nights in the Slovensky Raj National Park where we went for a 7 hour hike (see pictures of terrifyingly unstable metal platforms we had to use!).
After a few nights here we are moving on towards Ljubljana in Slovenia then down to Croatia for a couple of weeks, where we hope the weather will be a bit better!
