After 5 days in LA we decamped to Venice beach today. Our last two days in LA included Casper losing his credit card and drivers license while out unsupervised with his pals on sunset .... From what I can gather there were ladies and a Mexican involved... Nuff said.
Hannah and I shopped a little and checked out magnolia bakery. Red velvet cheesecake - genius.
We all cabbed it to downtown for last nights lakers game which was way fun. We didn't get a foam hand but we did eat hotdogs and super sized nachos. And we did see Ashton kutcher and jack black court side. The game was trip highlight so far - so entertaining with the music, band, cheerleaders, half time circus show and the actual game - lakers v nets and it went to the last 2 minutes. Tracked down my green juice
bar today and even got new prescription sunnies in an hour! Love LA.
So just had dinner at a lovely Cuban restaurant and got our bearings a little. Yeah it's def got some shady parts but mostly it's pretty cool. Bikes for hire tomorrow, gonna cycle to Malibu if our legs can handle it. Tandems were discussed and we out voted Hannah . There will be no tandem cycling! Best bar chat so far - B17 fighter pilot from WWII - six missions to Berlin then war ended. 37 years in LAPD. Works in films and farmers market now. Fascinating fellow.
