So after desert good times and a day of post festival recovery (den asleep at 7.30pm!!!!!)we hauled butt for 5 hours to a bend in the road called three rivers just a quarter mile from the gates of sequoia national park. In case u haven't heard they got a lot a big trees round these parts - see photo evidence attached. Oh and it's kinda chilly too. Snow and stuff. We stayed at Buckeye lodge on the river bend and drank wine as the crazy river rafters darted past. We got up early and headed into the park looking for big trees - we found them. These things are pretty awesome, if my nose wasn't turning red I'd of spent hours staring up at them! We checked the general Sherman and general grant off our list and got back down from the chilly 7000 elevation.
We made it to our next town - mariposa - on sundown - and made a wrong turn into a hill billy bar with a few guests off jerry springer keeping the bar propped up. Followed by a dirty greasy burger we decided to get back to the safety of our nice hotel and rest up before our adventure into Yosemite in the morning
