So woke up in New Zealand for first time today..was very surreal! Feel better than yesterday but still feeling the effects of the Jet Lag.. London Heathrow to Malaysa- 12 1/2 hour flight then Malaysa to New Zealand 10 1/2 hour flight... Think any flight now will feel short! Although the airline was fantastic and food quite good.. that long on a plane attempting to sleep upright for 2 days is never good! Anyways we are here now and god was it worth it! Arrived in find Auckland in 23 degrees, baked in sunshine!... Nice!
Arrived about 1pm in Auckland and spent the rest of the day settling into the hostel, finding shops, getting new mobilie numbers etc.. All in kind of a zombie state of mind I may add! Managed to stay awake until 9pm then passed out! Will did whilst I was chatting to him.. nice hey! The hotel we're staying at is amazing! Base ACB Auckland is right in the middle of town, on Queen Street- main high street going down to the coast. It's massive with over 500 rooms, totally devoted to us backpackers with a bar, computers everywhere, travel advisers, hairdryers and straighters (Yes Faye!), Sky TV rooms, kitchens, laundry rooms etc.. it really does have everything! Room is good too, basic but amazing for $16 per night! Oh and went to 'Auckland Sky Tower' (image attached) which had awesome views of the city!
Today we've been sailing around Auckland and Northern Parts of NZ. Was amazing, really hands on, putting sails up, steering etc. Check out the pictures. Will of course was in his element.. making friends with the crew, getting involved with everything.. I'm quite excited to think we can get a boat, he can drive and I can of course lay on top with my bikini on catching a tan :D
Unexpectancy just spoke to Faye on Skype who has just got in (3.15am UK) and is WASTED! Oh I miss thee! Oh and I saw Jonny half naked.. thanks Jonny :P Just relaxing at the hostel for rest of the afternoon then down to the Globe Bar for free poker and $5 drinks all night! Woo!
Off sailing around Auckland's smaller islands tomorrow, walking up a volcano (sleeping I may add) and Will's determined to make me a hard core trecker!.. Considering I've only walked my boots in around the house he's got his work cut out!! Let you know how it goes :)
Will check in soon, love to you all
