I usually wait until the evening before a trip to start writing my journal but all being well I will have forgotten the events of the early hours if this morning by this evening. So I thought I had best record it now.
We will have a very early start tomorrow, 2.30 am... Well we have a 6.30 flight and an hour and half journey to the air port and I simply must allow for every possible eventuality because if I'm not at the bag drop at least 2 hours before take off the world will come to an end!
Yes yes I know there's no traffic on the road at that time in the morning do the journey might only take an hour... But the world as we know it is at stake , so I would rather be up and out by 2.30... 30 minutes is a small price when the human race is at stake!
Ah actually only some of the human race ... But let's not start a political broadcast because in the normal scheme of things it is quite early.
I digress....
So I'm trying as hard as I can to make the most if my full nights sleep. However how ever much excited we are to be visiting Istanbul and having 4 while days off together some of our housemates are equally as anxious.
One of them clearly was having trouble sleeping and I think she wanted to check to make sure we hadn't got up in the middle if the night and set off for the airport (a day early!!! Now that is silly).
So for around an hour and a half she got up opened her door, opened my door, peeped in my room, shut the door shut her door. Repeat .. Every 4.5 minutes for over an hour... Now I'm no mathematician and I didn't have my calculator to hand but I can tell you that was lots of times. Half a snooze .... My snooze function is set to 9 minutes ... Usually long enough for me to get back to sleep before it wakes me with it's buzz. But 4.5 minutes or half a snooze means no snoozing for me!
I feel like setting my alarm for 1am and repaying my housemate but I fear that simply planning revenge will be very bad karma and I will be repaid by oversleeping, getting caught in traffic, only having 1 hour 45 minutes at the airport rather than 3 and run the risk of the world coming to an end
