We have been debating walking to cala nova beach since we arrived. Vikki sent me off road ing one evening, while she held the pushchair I scrabbled over sharp lava rocks the short incline and around a crescent towards what we thought was cala nova. I could just spot the familiar blue and white rows of sun beds and what looked like a fancy sail like canopy indicating beverage consumption. Deciding that this route was too treacherous we opted for the road sign posted 'Cala nova playa'.
An easy 4 minute walk got us to the 'fish and tonic' beach bar and a winding wheelchair ramp lead is straight to a more laid back beach bar. We had a cortado and made good use of the free wifi and chill out music before stepping onto the sand and I to a beautiful cove, rocky to the right and left and 'surfy' dead centre. We opted for rocky ask it was just vikki and I and we were prepared with snorkels and water shoes. Vikki ushered me back towards surfy centre.... Puzzled ... I asked why? 'A naked man' she replied! As I looked (well you just do, don't you?) he started running bay watch style into the sea. Unashamedly flapping about. Thankful that I opted for continental breakfast rather than full English, I quickly looked away just in time to spot another naked man greet a dear close friend with a warm hug!
We opted for surfy centre and put our snorkels back in the bag.
