Caught the local train from Florence to Pisa. The train ride was very uncomfortable as there was no aircon and hot! We arrived at Pisa, left our luggage at storage (very cheap) and walked to the tower, about 20 minutes. Tourists everywhere all taking photos, we took a few ourselves and grabbed some lunch. We stayed there for about half an hour before heading back to the station to catch the train to Rome. (approx 3hrs) Our accommodation (Hotel Gallia) was just around the corner from the train station so we walked, however although I had stayed there previously I still managed to walk straight past down a relatively steep hill. We then obviously had to make our way back up the hill with Brett complaining as he believed he was carrying a bag weighing 25kilos with my shopping. Our room was more than we expected as it was a junior suite, not sure if we were upgraded or not as price was pretty reasonable. We headed out for dinner at a local restaurant, was lovely! We had a local dish - roast chicken and potatoes, it was delicious! As per the photo we were provided a drink on the house, which as you can see Brett was really enjoying it! The drink was actually really nice.
