Temperature: 10C - 23C, no heater and hot water Highlights: After the animated bus journey where some 60 year old Gringo passengers nearly killed all of us by kicking down the bus drivers door and insulting the stewardess all because the air con wasn't cold enough. We arrived in Puno just in time for the Sunday market, where you can find everything from lamb heads to coco leaves to guinea pigs for dinner. We toured Lago Titicaca (55000 metres above sea level, at least!) and its wonderful floating islands, the Uros and Tanquile Islands. The locals use reeds to build everything from the island itself to houses and boats. Cut off from land they power the TVs and radios from solar panels!
