The Great Escape
Temperature: 15C to 23C
Highlights: Aguas Calientes is the last stop before Machu Picchu and has some interesting hot pools with Bob Marley crooning in the background.
There is only one way to greet a 6am Pisco Sour heavy morning, and that is with a mystically cloudy view of Machu Picchu. After our morning tour we hiked up the treacherous Huayna Picchu (not for those who don't like heights), to arrive at the most precariously built complex, a haven for base jumpers. We were so aback with Machu Picchu, that before we knew it we were on the train back. It really is a must for everyone to make their way here at some point in their life.
Disappointments: This place is more crowded than Piccadilly Circus. Due to a massive landslide at the Sun Gate we decided against the Inca Trail.
Other: Machu Picchu truly is a spiritual place and Susanne was quite drawn to it.
