Hi, I am here in Tokyo.

Everybody I have met has been lovely. They are very helpful and just really nice people.

While waiting for hotel yday, spent pm in uneo park. lots of blossums just coming out and the japanese have blossom parties in the park. it is warm when the sun is out. A very cool breeze, so cold -when i landed it was only six degrees. typical!- when it has gone in tho.

The trip has gone very smoothly, it has been almost too easy so far. The trains are huge and the people really wear surgical masks on their faces. Not just at the stations but across the whole of tokyo. do not know if it is for nucleur attacks or because of the environment. at first, it was funny but actually it is scary. the japanese seem quite wise and if they are that worried about pollution etc, you can not help thinking there must be reasons behind it unless the mask is just a silent protest rather then a safety thing. see, i should have learnt japanese and then i could have asked them. feel a bit ashamed that i have not learnt any yet. I have about ten words to try and use today.

anyway i should go and do some exploring!
