We arrived in Krabi Town on Saturday. Expecting it to be a quirky little town, as we had read, we were very disappointed. Luckily we had only booked one night there so we quickly got on the internet and booked a guesthouse in Ao Nang for the next few nights. Clare and Sam happened to be there and informed us it was much better!
In the evening we headed to the Night Market in Krabi Town. This made our stay there worthwhile. There was a magic show, live music and the biggest and best array of food ever! Being the pigs we are and as the food was so cheap, we had food from about 6 different stools!
After checking into our new place in Ao Nang and grabbing lunch, we headed to Ao Nang beach. Lovely of course! Unfortunately not long after we got there it started to pour it down so we had to take cover in a bar.
We both ended the afternoon very nicely...Whilst I had the best hour long back massage ever (with free manicure and pineapple, all for less than £4!!) Samuel went to hire a CRF 250 (very big bike) which he collected me on.
That evening we met up with our long lost travel buddies for a Mexican feast!
The next day we took advantage of having the bike. After a much needed gym session in the morning, we spent the rest of the day exploring.
After driving for about an hour, we arrived at the 'Emerald Pool'. It cost us 'foreigners' £4 to get in whilst only costing locals 40p!! However it was well worth the money. We were about the only westerners there and it was beautiful... You can see from the pics.
Next stop was the 'Hot Stream'. Again we were the only westerners there and it was well worth the visit. It was basically a load of natural hot tubs within a waterfall! We could have relaxed there all day but unfortunately we had to be back to hand over Samuels 'baby'!
That evening we met up with Sam and Clare for dinner to say our final goodbyes (again!).
Tuesday we went to Railay Beach which is attached to Krabi but you can only get there by long tail boat so it feels like it's own little Island.
After soaking up too much sun on the main beach we decided to go for a little explore. We saw some signs for a viewpoint and lagoon so headed in that direction. After seeing the assault course you had to climb to get up there, we decided it would be best to leave it until the next day when we would bring trainers!
We eventually arrived at another little beach with beautiful rocks jutting out of it. We spent most of our time there fascinated, watching people rock climb.
Today, our last day in Krabi and Thailand, we went back to Railay beach to take on the trek to the viewpoint and lagoon. This was difficult at times as we basically had to climb up/ down rock faces with very few places to put your feet. With little legs this is extra hard! The trek was well worth it, especially for the beautiful lagoon we discovered. One of the most magical places we've seen!
We spent the rest of the day chilling on Railay beach, one of our favourite beaches in Thailand.
As you've probably seen on the news, there is a curfew through out Thailand. This combined with it being the beginning of rainy season, has resulted in us deciding to move on to Malyasia slightly earlier than planned.. But we can't wait! Nice early start for our flight in the morning :)
