Crossing the boarder from Thailand to Malaysia went very smoothly and after about 8 hours we were in the beautiful country of Malaysia. The weather was still warm and it was great to be somewhere other than Thailand. As much as we loved Thailand we were looking forward to going elsewhere.
We went for a lovely chinese on the first night and had a little mooch around the town near to the hotel. At 8;30am the next morning we were due to go on a tour around Penang to see the different temples. It was very interesting and our guide Steve told us all about the Chinese superstitions and took us to many temples. As lovely as they are, you appreciate the first few but then they all start to look the same and it can get a tad tedious. We went to a banana leaf indian restaurant which required you to use your hands to eat. That was a very different experience I never thought I would do!! Vicky got well stuck in! We had a veggie indian in the evening and then had an early night as we were due to leave the hotel early and head for the hills..... the Cameron Highlands!
