After a long and uncomfortable journey on a coach that we thought wouldnt get us there we arrived in the beautiful Cameron Highlands. It took about 6 hours to travel up to the highlands and when we got there we all discoverd that the temperature had dropped considerably. We all got our jumpers and coats out and it felt like we were back in England. A real shock! The rooms luckly didnt have a fan as that wasnt needed atall so we went straight up to layer up!
We went into the small town and had a look at the souviner shop and had a starbucks. Vicky and I went to a basic western restaurant and it really was basic! For some reason over this part of the world they struggle to understand what bread is!
Another early night as in the morning we were going on another tour and then leaving for Kuala Lumper. The past few days have been all go and the sudden change in temperature really took it out of all of us. The nights sleep was just awful as it was just so so cold and sleeping in a small short and t-shirt set really didnt do anything to keep us warm. We werent expecting it to be so chilly.
In the morning we set off up the hills to the local tea plantation 'BOH'. The veiws were amazing and we got taken around the factory and told how they make the tea and it was all very informative and interesting. After that we made our way to a butterfly farm. I held a butterfly and it kindly pood on my hand and Vicky held a tortoise that kindly weeed on her... wasnt our lucky day! There were loads of creatures all great and small there. Some leaf insects that actually looked liked leaves, a huge beetle, snakes, hamsters....allsorts. After that we went to a strawberry farm and then back to the hotel as we had to catch a bus @ 1:45 that would take us to Kuala Lumper, the capital of Malaysia. We are looking forward to this place as its a good place to get some bargains and haggle...., and its also warmer... just how we like it!!!!
