The first bus that we had to get on to get us to the bus station was a public bus and luckily we were the first to get on and we headed straight for the back with our bags as we knew we would have trouble trying to contend with the other passengers. The bus was rammed full of poeple and our bags were in the isles to make space on the seats. It was a sight! When we got to the bus station we boarded our last bus, a comfortable bus with the reclining chairs and got to Malaka around 2:00pm. We got sorted out in our little rooms, we were staying in a converted house and it was huge but the rooms were a little small, and then went for a walk with our leader and we took us to a place for lunch. Again we were exhausted and in order to get back to the house we decided to get a taxi that took about 5 mins and it was the most run down taxi we had come across. No seat belts and the insides of the doors just didnt seen to exsist. The taxi driver was really nice though and as he drove us back he was telling us about the local sights and the history. At 5:00pm we went on a Tri-shaw ride which is where a man rides a bike and attached to the side is a cart that 2 people can sit in and then he takes you around the streets of Malaka on a little tour and explains about the history etc... we went to another temple and its the only temple that doesnt contain any steel parts atall in the construction.... a very interesting fact!!
We then went out for our last dinner as a group and all had an early night as the amount of travelling that we have been doing the past few days had tired us all out. The next morning we had to leave at 8:15 am to get a bus to Singapore, our last one in South-East Asia, but before bed we had to endure cold showers!
