We arrived in Krabi at about 12:00 noon to a really cute little place right on the beach. It was called Dawn of Happiness and comprised off cute little huts in a circle with a hammock platform in the middle. The weather was a little overcast but the views were still breath-taking. Vicky and Sam both agreed that this is the nicest we have been so far including Koh Tao aswell. We had a bit of lunch and then in the evening we went into Ao-Nang to do a bit of shopping and we had Italian for dinner.
The next day we had to get up bright and early for a full day of snorkeling. The bus left @ 8:30 and took us to Ao-Nang beach where we got onto a speed boat and set off on the 50 minute trip to the Island where the BEACH was filmed. Lets just say the speed boat was a little more bumpy than expected!! The feeling of sea sick sprung on us both!! Phi Phi Lah where the beach was filmed was absolutly gorgeous. White sands, green/blue waters, absolutly gorgeous. We stayed there for about 40 mins then got back on the boat to our first snorkeling destination...
Vicky decided to use a life jacket and whilst she was getting strapped in the guy pulled a strap in between her legs and clipped it at the font. Her face was a picture!!! But then when we got in the water the life jacket floated up and was a little uncomfy for Vicky. After about 20mins she freed herself from the strap... Having a life jacket helped as you were able to float on it, rather than wearing it, to get ur balance whilst you looked below. The fish were gorgeous and it was a surreal feeling to be swimming with them. The guys were chucking food in and all the fish were swarming round the food and you could feel them brush past you... so weird. After 30 mins we got back in the boat and went off for lunch. We had some spare time so Vicky, Emma and Sam caught some rays on the beach. After lunch we were dumped off the boat again in the middle of the sea as there was a coral reef. Catriona and Suzanne didn't go in the 2nd time so decided to chuck food for the fish in our direction and when you have your head under water and they all come swimming at your face............ that was scary and we did scream a little bit...
We also visited Monkey Island which is how it sounds and bamboo island where we chilled out for a while. The speed boat back to the main land took about 30 mins and when we got back to the huts, everyone was pretty tired so we all napped ready for our night out in Ao-Nang.
At about 10:00pm, Vicky, Suzanna, Catriona and Sam went and met Effie and Anna in Ao-Nang for a few drinks at Chang Bar. Chang Bar is a really good place where you can play jenga, connect 4 and pool whilst listening to good music and drinking cocktails!! PERFECT!! We were all a little tipsy (drunk) and at about 2:00am we strolled into the resort and went to bed.
The next day was a chill out day, nothing to do and the sun was out so it was a perfect cure after our previous night. We had dinner at the hotel and went back into Ao-Nang to do some last minute bartering.
We left the Dawn of Happiness resort at 7:30 to make our way to the boader as our next stop is Malaysia...
