We looked around for campervans to hire from the 20th until the 2nd of January so that we could drive up to Newcastle for Christmas and then camp out in Manly beach for New Year's eve, but most of the companies are fully booked, and the ones that aren't want almost 3 times more than we paid for the last one we had just because it's over Christmas. We've moved to the Railway Square YHA hostel which is also very nice, it's only a few minutes away from the other one so we're still very central. We're going to get a train up to Newcastle on the 23rd to spend a few days which Geoffrey and co, and I'm not really sure what we're doing for New Year's eve as we'll have nothing to camp out in!
We went to Toronga zoo the other day which was very nice, except that it was filled with screaming children! We took the very across to the zoo, and when we were there we could see the opera house and harbour bridge behind the animals! We saw some more koalas and elephants, but i think the seal show was the best bit!
We went to Manly beach too, via the tube (one of the stations overlooks the harbour!)and ferry, which was cool-it's a really nice little town full of surf shops and young trendy people! We stayed there for a few hours in the afternoonbut it cold a bit cold and windy so we didn't stay too long!
Last night we went to watch 'Carols in the Domain', which is a park near the botanical gardens-we saw Delta Goodrem and Brian McFadden and it was all very lovely but it still doesn't feel cold enough to be christmas.
