Our last day in Sydney was spent being lazy on the hostel terrace and then heading to Coogee beach for the afternoon. It took a few hours to get to Canberra, including a detour to McDonalds, and we got here around half past 10. We checked in at the YHA for two nights as tonight was fully booked, but luckily we managed to book on tonight's night bus to Melbourne and find a hostel for 3 nights-which has it's very own cinema!
We haven't been too impressed with the Canberra YHA-the bathrooms are pretty gross and yesterday we went up to our room to find all of out bags thrown into the corridor as they forgot we'd booked in for two nights.
Yesterday we walked to the Parlimentary building and managed to see the Prime minister giving question time! It started off with the PM giving condolences to Iraq veterans families, which was then copied by the opposition, and so on, and then they started arguing about their new policies which was quite entertaining..it was a bit like listening to children quarrel.
Today we walked to the war museum which was very interesting...they even had plane replicas there. There seems to be a lot of touristy things here but most of them are museums, and apart from that it's quite a quiet place to be.
