Sallys Worldwide Adventure
Left the South Island on 10 Aug, me and sophie flew from Picton to Wellington. Was really cool, it was a tiny little plane, and Sophie got to sit up front with the pilot.
Only had one day in wellington, so didnt really do much, we went to a museum, which is meant to be really good, but me and Sophie are both the same, we wandered around for 10 mins pressing all the buttons then got bored and left!
Was pretty funny, the night we were there we had a fire drill at the hostel, we were already to go out but there were people like coming out on to the street in the pj ands stuff. Then we all mobbed the firemen.
The next day we went to Taupo, spent a day there and then to Rotorua for a few days. Rotorua was good, but it stinks there, theres like thermal activity or something underthe ground so the mud pools and lakes all bubble, it looks cool, but stinks.
We went up this montain thing by a gondula and went on a couple of luge rides and then on this sky swing thing that was so unbeliveably scary. It raised you up diagonally and then you have to pull a cord to release your self into the fall. Sophie bought the DVD of it cause our conversation was just so funny, we were chatting all the way till we got to the top, then once we were up the it went silent, adn we both realised that none of us could actually pull it, in the end Sophie did and it didnt work, and we were just stuck there looking at each other, then she done it again harded, and it let go of us and we went swinging into the air! Was so fuuny.
Sophie also went Zorbing, where you get in this big beach ball with water inside and then you get pushed down a hill!
From there we went to Auckland, for a day and then up to the bay of islands. We only just made it there thou, we went out and got really drunk with one of the bus drivers and were meant to leave at 7.20 the next morning and at 7 I woke Sophie up and we hadnt packed or anything and we were both feeling pretty sick and then had to sit on a bus for like 5 hrs. We packed in such a rush Sophie forgot her coat and I-pod!
The bay of Islands was nice, we went on a boat called the Exicitor, it was really cool, it goes like really fast cant remember how fast but really fast 40 notts rings a bell, but i have no idea what that means. Was pretty funny as me and sophie thought we'd book like a cruse boat around the island and then when we got there they said we cant take any bags and gave up head to toe rubber waterproof clothing, and we were like whats going on!!
Went back to Auckland for a couple of days and went up the Auckland sky tower and saw the whole city that way!
On my very last day in New Zealand, I decided to go to Fiji with Sophie so most of our last day was spent arranging flights and accom for Fiji!
