Sallys Worldwide Adventure
Fiji was such a last minute dicision it was so funny. Everything alwasy seems to go wrong for me and Sophie for some reason. We made the descion on where we wanted to go and had tobook it the morning of our flight. But as usual it didnt work out so we had to change our plans. We were meant to catch the bus to the airport at 10, but at 10 we were still in the travel agent with all our stuff tryin to work it all out! Then we had the longest bus journey ever, as the last 2 buses in front of our had broke down so we were stopping every where picking people up. We eventually got to the airport and just got though secruity when we heard the final call, and then Sophie got stopped as she had all sorts in her bag, like knives, spray loads. But us being us, even thou we were running late still found time for duty free and of course without fail Mc Donalds!!
We flew into Nadi in Fiji, and when we got the the weather was all overcast, we were both so upset as we were well looking forward to some sun after being in NZ for 3 weeks!!!
We stayed on the main island for one night, and then the next morning went to an island called South Sea Island.
This island was so cute, it was tiny you could walk around the whole thing in less than 5 mins, and no matter where you stand on the island every way you look you can see the ocean. With the Island you pay a flat rate for the room and all your food. Me and Sophie both love to eat so come Lunch time me and Sophie were 1st in the line, and 1st up for 2nds! And it was good food too.
The next day we were meant to go on a boat trip to visit a few other islands including the one where the film castaway was filmed but due to the bad weather it was cancelled. We were really disappointed, in the end we ended up going back to the mainland for a night then to the next island.
We went to Robinson Crusoe Island. Not sure if you know who Robinson Crusoe is, but it named after him. Really enjoyed it there. All the staff on the island were so friendly and everyday they woyuld do a show for us, like fiji dancing or fire dancing, and always put on activitys for things to do, like jewlerry making or tree climbing.
The funnist thing about the island was the showers. I kinda expected them to be cold, which isnt so bad when its hot out. But its a bucket that hangs above your head with a tap on it. Then you have to go and get a bucket of water from outside and then go to the shower bucket and lower it by a pully thing then fill it up! Really weird!
This island was pretty small too, we walked around it in about 40 mins, and on the way around we came across and deadly sea snake. We also attempted to canoe around but gave up after about 10 mins and it just turned into a massive water fight.
Went diving there too, and it was wicked. Me and Sophoe are both qualfied so we could just be on out own. Was really cool, we saw 2 reef sharks, and loads of amazing colored coral, which was cool cause usally you cant see all the colors properly.
We were really sad to leave this island, as it was so relaxed and friendly.
We went back to the mainland for the night and then I left the next morning and Sophie left in the Afternnon. So we had to say bye which was pretty sad, but luckery I left at like 5 so Soph was still in bed, so it couldnt get too emosional!!
