We were a feeling equal parts concern/excitement about the helicopter ride to Milford.
The decision not to take the land route was based on not wanting to drive 4hrs each way, for 2hrs at Milford.
Sally enjoys filling in the details, so here are a few facts,
The helecopter was small
The third (Canadian) passenger was born in Leicester general hospital
The weather was clear sunny and light winds
The photos do not do justice to the vastness of the mountains
Sally gently took the micky out of the pilot, who was a cool kiwi, who could not remember the punch line of his jokes.
AWESOME
That is the feeling flying over ridges, into valleys with vertical sides.
Helicopters defy any understandable laws of gravity
Landing on top of a glacier defies my descriptive ability
What a way to spend an afternoon
