We´d give the chinese a run for their money at table tennis.
So we woke up with our kidneys intact and no immediate body parts missing as decided to wonder the city that looked so grim the night before. Wondered into the nitty gritty part of the city and weren't thinking much off it. On the way back to the hostel we discovered a more lively part which seemed to higher our hopes of Montevideo. It was nice and all though it didn't run for long it gave us hope that the city wasn't a complete s***hole. After that we went back to the hostel and decided to find a beach of some kind. Lonely planet suggested a beech 2km away so we headed for that. Weirdly enough when we arrived despite the beach meeting the horrid plata del rio the sand was surprisingly white. Sitting there in jean shorts we realised we weren't in the right attire but content with the fact we'd found a beach we headed home to sort nye out. Asking the manager, who did speak English where to go, I ended up in quite a convo with him. As the convo went on I began to warm to him and we ended up having a ping pong game. If he won we gave him a good review on hostelworld, if we won he bought us a beer. He beat us marginally but later found out that was not completly fair as he stated he played for the Uruguayan ping pong team and had been over to england to compete. Anyways the night drew in and we went out to the strip we earlier found. Pretty buzzing so after a pint we headed in to conserve ourself quite content that the next night, nye, would be quite a sick night afterall.
