On our way to Queenstown we stopped at the place where commercial Bungy jumps began by AJ Hackett. Neither of us felt like throwing oursleves off a bridge but we enjoyed watching some people who did with a hot chocolate around some outdoor fires.
We arrived in Queenstown and we took it easy for a few days, while Jeff recovered from the flu. We had a famous Ferg burger for dinner which was the enormous and incredibly tasty. Queenstown is the party capital of NZ with 47 bars in 4 blocks!
The next day we did The Milford Sound Tour, we drove for a good 3 hours before we entered the world famous National Park which is known as Fiordland, we were surrounded by dense rainforest and steep cliffs which were covered in snow. The Milford Sound was actually a fiord which was formed by glaciers rather than a sound which is formed by rivers. The average rainfall in England is 600mm a year and in Milford Sound they had the same amount in 1 day. Theire average rainfall is 12m a year and it's expected to rain 2 out of every 3 days. We were very lucky with the dry day we had, as we boarded our boat the clouds had lifted and you could just about see the top of the highest moutain. Our trip included a free lunch and free tea and coffee. We stayed on the outer deck for the whole trip and got drenched by a huge waterfall, we saw some dolphins swimming and juming around our boat and crept up to the seal rock, where a few seals were sleeping.
The next day we played Disc Golf as we call it or Frisbee Golf as the Kiwi's call it. It was situated right by the lake. Jeff brought his own discs from home and we completed the course in under an hour. San had to run into the lake to rescue a disc.
San enjoyed some drinks in Queenstown that night. She played a game of Beer Pong and played in the finals which she lost.
The next day we made our way to Lake Tekapo, stopping off at a small town, Cromwell which is famous for it's fruit.
