Started off a bright day visiting the summer palace. It was mahoosive but amazing, and all of the lakes within and surrounding the area had frozen over so people were makeshift ice skating or skiing on the ice, looked fun but a bit dodgy..
We also ended up tagging up with a Philippino couple - Nico and Charm, so the 5 of us went around together. Most of the time we ended up climbing over lots of steep rocks to get to where we wanted, only to find a pretty mild sloping path on the other side that we could have taken. Ohh welll.

I tried a milk tea which is a really milky sweet drink which has tapioca (?) balls in it (just like little fruit jelly bits) that you eat. Except every time I seemed to suck one up the straw some Chinese person would walk past honking up flem and spitting right by me, so it's now called gag tea ha.
We then headed to the Olympic Village and paid 30 RMB to visit inside the 'Water Cube' which is where the aquatic events took place. They still have the 50m competition pool, diving pool and training pool, but they've converted one half of the stadium into a water park which the public can pay to go into.

When we got back to the hostel they were putting on a dumpling night where you get to make and eat dumplings. We were back in time to try but there wasn't enough room to attempt making them. It's fine though cos it was all free and we still got to eat them ;)
It also seems that for the first time in my life i've developed a taste for beer... this could be baaad...So we had a pint each and then hit the sack cos we have an early start tomorrow.
