An early start to head to the port and catch our boat trip. The boat eventually set off at about 8:30am and we were headed to Las Islas del Rosario which is a group of 27 little coral islands off the coast. After a long 2.5 hours we arrived at one of the little islands which had an aquarium on it - it was quite expensive and we didn't fancy seeing dolphins in tiny spaces so we decided against it and sat in the shade enjoying the dry land. Afterwards we got back on the boat and had another long 1-2 hour journey to Playa Blanca. By the time we got there I (Sophie) was feeling a tad seasick so was glad to sea the beach and have time to relax. We had lunch included on the tour which was a lovely fish dish, Aimee opted for the chicken dish which was definitely questionable and we were 99% sure it wasn't chicken but who knows what it actually was...! The woman opposite us liked her fish dish so much she decided to put the fish head in her mouth and suck the juices out. Luckily I'd finished eating and managed to keep my food down rather than vomiting it back in her face! After lunch we paid for a shade and some chairs to keep out the baking hot sun and sat on the beach for an hour before heading back on the boat to Cartagena. We thought we had signed up for an island hopping tour but it turns out Colombians think 2 Islands is enough to constitute an island hopping tour! We went for dinner in the Old Town and decided to share a large pizza (much to the waiters dismay), when it arrived we saw the reason for his shocked face but still we managed to consume the majority of it and then we looked to our left to see 3 grown men sharing the same size pizza!! Amateurs :)
