On the road to Exmouth we free camped by the river with camping "serenity" and with our own Darryl Kerrigan (aka Pops). We had a brief afternoon visit to Port Hedland. Driving into Port Hedland the salt fields were visible from the road. We passed what seemed a never ending train of which we were unable to count all the wagons. And driving along the Port we saw the stockpile of salt and ore. Luckily on the way out we saw the entrance to Roy Hill ;)

After leaving Broome we set pace on the Great Northern Highway southbound. We stopped for lunch at 80 mile beach, following about 10kms unsealed road off the Highway. We all had an adventure mud crabbing off Derby Wharf in Kings Sound. We had our own Major Les Higgins aka the Bush Tucker Man. Les taught us how to crab off the wharf. We now know how to survive in a harsh Kimberley environment like Derby. Beau was a very eager student, keeping nosy tourists at bay.
