We all had an adventure mud crabbing off Derby Wharf in Kings Sound. We had our own Major Les Higgins aka the Bush Tucker Man. Les taught us how to crab off the wharf. We now know how to survive in a harsh Kimberley environment like Derby.
Beau was a very eager student, keeping nosy tourists at bay. Beau was sure to make them keep their distance from our traps with a stern face and stern words
We visited the prison boab tree, which holds cultural significance for 'Aboriginal Traditional Beliefs'.
Adjacent to the boab tree is Australia longest water trough. The trough now fed by a windmill is 140 feet long and can accommodate 500 bullocks at a time. It was of significance historically when bullocks were shipped from Derby wharf.
