Mancora completely destroyed us! 1 week of partying isnt the greatest way to treat your liver!
We took a day bus from Mancora to Chiclayo, meant to be leaving at 11, which became 1.30, Peruvians are always good with timing. A very bumpy bus journey due to amazing suspension, ended with a flap on the floor lifting up, blowing dust everywhere and where we could see the road lol, after Hannah tried to get the attention of the bus people we had to put a bag on the flap for the rest of the journey (just another great bus journey in South America )
When we arrived at the hostel we were amazed by the fact we had a TV, and it had channels in english, needless to say we spent a long time that night watching TV, how sad?!
On our second day we took a collectivo to Lambayeque, to see the museum of the Lord of Sipan, and the ruins at Sipan the day after. Fantastic musuem full of artefacts, the majority were found at the site, but some had been stolen by looters and were eventually returned after investigations as far away as the USA and Europe. Yet again Hannahs blonde hair gained her an admirer who decided to leave his school group and follow us around the museum, whispering to get her attention as we went, with a dirty smile on his face, nice!
The ruins were amazing, really great to be on a site that they are still excavating, and guess who was there with his school group again....although he stayed with his school group this time.
We also ventured to the market in Chiclayo, what an experience! I dont think most people had seen a white person before, we were celebrities! Lots of giggling, looking, people fetching their friends to look at the white people, hilarious! The market was massive, you could buy anything you wanted, included magical potions in the witches market, check out the explicit photos on the boxes.
Just to finish our time in Chiclayo on an up note, we had chickens foot soup, without realising until Hannah almost ate a foot x
