So i havent mentioned so far, the irish guys we met in cairns have split up as Paul had to go home to deal with some family stuff. So its left Sarah, Mark and myself, Mark has rented a car so its cheaper for Seh and I to travel with him as the buses are like 1200dollars each. He is a really nice guy and its nice having the freedom of a car and just going when you want etc. So today we drove from Cairns to Townsville Via Mission Beach! A little secret Australia is Massive! i mean huge..driving is the most ridiculous thing ever its just miles and miles of trees, just long straight roads dwarfed by the mountains on either side, it really does take seeing to believe. We stopped at mission beach for a walk along the beach but it didnt seem very busy so decided to carry on down to townsville. Arrived Saturday night and went out for some nice food (Cactus Jacks) and then to a nightclub (Mad Cow and Bullys) was an Alright night, very busy with locals and not many traveller types, everyone was looking really glam and for once Seh and I looked underdressed, as you can imagine we werent very happy!! I lost my wallet so this Kinda ruined my next day (very upset withmyself after banging on to sarah about being safe and keeping stuff in sight!) but we already had a tour booked to Magnetic island so seh told me to get hold of myself and get on with things. WE caught a ferry to Magnetic island and the tour man "CAM" took us to the best places on the island, this island had some really special places! Check the photos out..but included Wild Wallabies..A bloody Koala bear (in the wild!!!) one of the best beaches i have ever had the pleasure of seeing at sunset..was just breath taking! really touched the both of us. The on the way home in the massive jeep we got instruments to play and singalong to songs! was so crazy! after the tour we stopped at the next hostel and it was really nice (XBASE) right on the beach! had a nice dinner then another early night! The following day we sea kayaked (ridiculously hard) and sunbathed for a few hours before gettting a ferry back so i could see a doctor (a rash had started to blister on my back!!) so got back to townsville around 4pm. Looked for a hairdresser as sarah and i are sick of having tramp like hair! couldnt find one so went to docs..turns out i have SHINGLES!!! the doctor says i dont have to go home as long as it dosent get infected and i keep and eye on it and make sure the blisters dont pop. I was pretty scared but think i got it because of lack of sleep and all the drinking. On the plus side at least it wasnt on my face! every cloud... So a nightmare couple of days for me!!
