so...i went shopping! to Providence Place (which is the 'mall') - it is HUGE! like ridiculously big! basically three floors of solid shops - and really good shops too...Abercrombie & Fitch, American Eagle Outfitters, etc etc. i bought two really lush hoodies from Abercrombie; all warm and soft and snuggly! and so cheap too - everything is like half price, i love it!
I finally got a map of Providence, so it's much easier to get around now, altho i did get a little lost and confused on my way to the mall on Wednesday but it was cool, i just saw a lot more of downtown Providence than I'd initially intended, and i found my way in the end. I saw the State House (see my pics) and the Roger Williams memorial Park (he was some guy who had something to do with the founding of Providence i think - there's so much history surrounding this place it's hard to keep up with it all!). i saw the Train station and a bit of the river (i cant remember the name of it tho - it's long and weird), which was pretty cool.
And then yesterday i went back to Thayer Street (this really cool street with loads of cafe's and quirky little shops) - bought a t-shirt from urban outfitters and saw some really nice UGGS, tall ones in dark brown - leather on the foot bit and suede on the leg and furry on the inside - only for $90 which is amazing for a pair of tall UGGS. i think that works out at about £45-£50! so i'm thinking i'm gonna go back and buy them next week cos i need some boots. altho suede in the snow probs isn't a very good idea!
After my shopping spree i walks all the way down Thayer Street, past all the Brown campus buildings - there were so many students around! I then sorta walked in a big circle just wandering down random streets looking at all the houses and buildings and stuff. it's cool - pretty much all the houses are made of wood (as you'll see from my photos), barely any made from brick - and they all have a little front porch. it's sort of exactly how i imagined it would be.
Anyway, now i'm rambling. bye bye
